Leave him alone… he suffered enough already in life, he’s dead now. Can’t you just let him rest in peace?

Comment by scm — July 3, 2009 at 8:01 am

Doesnt look like anything was done to his lips at all! Let the man rest! The world messed with him all his living days and now even after death. No wonder the poor soul had so many issues.

Comment by Lain — July 3, 2009 at 10:09 am

I agree with the rest of the surgeries, but perhaps he just thinned out as he got older. Not ‘cheek fat removal’?

Comment by Fallopia Tuba — July 3, 2009 at 3:02 pm

Sad thing…he was so great-looking before and he didn’t know it.

Comment by Mike — July 3, 2009 at 3:41 pm

What I would like to see is a computer image of what he would have looked like without all the surgeries. Something similar to what they use when they try to give approximate images of what an abducted child would look like now. That would be interesting.

Comment by thartist — July 3, 2009 at 6:32 pm

…with horrible plastic surgeons.

Comment by Gloria — July 4, 2009 at 3:09 am

I just can’t understand how he said he never had so much plastic surgery – and expected everyone to believe it… He must have lost all connections to the real world. So weird.

Comment by KC — July 4, 2009 at 10:25 am

Darn, he was such a cute kid with a beautiful smile. No doubt that he would have grown into a very handsome, hot mature guy had he just left himself alone.

Comment by jeffsurgery — July 4, 2009 at 2:17 pm

I don’t think he got his eyes done, i’ve looked at hundreds of his images, and his eyes have always been the same, right until he died.

Obviously he had multiple nose jobs, and the clef in the chin, and possibly chin implant, but no brow lifts or facelifts i don’t think.

There was something dodgy with his lip in 2001 during the invincible years, either he was quite high, or had botox or something on his lips, or it might have been something to do with “Lupus”, im not sure.

Comment by Mary — July 5, 2009 at 3:55 am

He was a cute guy before. I’m so sorry for him.

Comment by Polo — July 5, 2009 at 7:42 am

He had a lot of surgeries. But you assume that each and every change in his face is a surgery. You cannot compare a picture of him when he was 20 and then one when he was 45. YOU HAVE TO CLARIFY THAT AGING IS ALSO A FACTOR.

Comment by mr.ed — July 5, 2009 at 8:19 am

He made himself so androgynous that it’s a surprise to me to see him with a beard. With the kind of father he had, it’s no surprise that he’d want to be as different from him as he could. He went to the wrong kind of doctor, though. This was a psychological problem, not physical.

Comment by Raj — July 5, 2009 at 12:45 pm

As a young man, MJ was a relatively handsome guy. But as he got older and wealthier he is a perfect example of good gone really bad. I would assume his plastic surgeries were non stop affairs, not only to get the painkillers he loved, but to continue his quest for everlasting youth. For the past 15 years, his judgement was so obviously impaired he continued to seek out plastic surgery and was grossly taken advantage of by ruthless surgeons. In the past few years a legitimate surgeon wouldn’t agree to as so much as Botox for this guy, but in the end he was left with the face of a freak. I still wonder what look he was trying to achieve, not that it matters any longer.

Comment by terry — July 5, 2009 at 10:07 pm

he looked good with one nose job.

Comment by PaulWall — July 5, 2009 at 10:36 pm

ONLY 20? Another doc said MJ had over 300. I assume this is continued bleaching and touching up details. Only 20. I don’t think so.

Comment by RaraAvis — July 5, 2009 at 10:39 pm

What about the skin bleaching? If you believe that his skin magically turned white because of some “condition”, then I have some swamp land I’d like you to look at. And what happened to his hair? Were the wigs just a way to look more white, or did he lose his hair, or what?

Tattoo eyebrows?

Comment by Curious — July 6, 2009 at 3:25 pm

I don’t understand why his smile looks so different. If his lips were reduced wouldn’t his smile show MORE teeth? What would make his teeth look so tiny by the end? That to me is one of the most f’ed up things about his face – besides his nose of course.

Comment by Rosemarie — July 6, 2009 at 10:53 pm

The boy-man was a train wreck. I’m sorry for his children. Poor innocent children. Crazy dad and a mother who only wants them now that she was cut out of the will. They will be spending a lot of time on some shriniks couch. Sad.

Comment by Lily — July 7, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Uhm… not sure about eye reshaping, fat removal, lip reduction and brow lift, but I think he definitely had several rhinoplasties, facelifts as well as jaw and cheek implants.

Comment by Vii — July 7, 2009 at 2:10 pm

And who cares? After all he was a genius musician and a noble man. Let him rest in peace, no matter if he’s black or white [*].

Comment by Vince — July 7, 2009 at 7:41 pm

MJ was one messed up puppy! The doctors who performed all those procedures past a certain point should have their licenses revoked.

Comment by Rytka — July 8, 2009 at 5:56 am

Only one question – why he needed all this crap?

Comment by Shannon — July 8, 2009 at 8:48 am

This is so sad. He was SO naturally handsome! Even his first nose job didn’t look good on his face; it was too feminine. RIP

Comment by Emily — July 9, 2009 at 7:34 pm

You forgot lip tattooing and chin sculpting

Comment by jackie — July 15, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Awful waste of a life when he looked perfectly ok to begin with, ended up looking more like a burns victim with stretched and puckered skin.

Shame all the hangers-on and family didn’t have the nerve to tell him he was going to look freakish. All those “loving fans” who did and said nothing.

We once knew someone who was gassed and burned in WW1 and had half his face, nose, ears & eyelids missing and had wax-like skin…..he had NO choice but to look like it., wacko chose to look that way.

Comment by mary — July 15, 2009 at 2:17 pm

I think it is not asking too much of you guys to put up some info on vitiligo, a condition from which MJ suffered, and one that is not recognized by mainstream media or the general public because it only afflicts people of “colour”. There are quite a few shots of MJ with vitiligo patches clearly visible beneath layers of makeup.
I am Pakistani and have a few family members with the condition. Those who can afford it go for depigmentation (as MJ did) wherein the colour of their skin is bleached off to a single tone. There is no known cure to the disease other than depigmentation or concealing jobs. Ii know first hand how it hits at a person’s self esteem and to think that poor MJ had to face added ridicule and humiliation at the hands of ignorant people. I think there is no better way for you to honour his memory than clearing a misconception that must’ve hurt MJ in life and which seems to linger on even after his tragic death.

Comment by Leslie — July 15, 2009 at 6:09 pm

He looked fine before all of those surgeries. Why did he do that to himself since he was already a handsome man. I miss you Michael Jackson.

Comment by Boof — July 16, 2009 at 8:55 pm

Thank you Mary, people need to learn more about Vitiligo. There is this misconception that Michael bleached his skin in order to be white or whatever. In truth, he opted for the depigmentation treatment that Vitiligo suferers have the option to undergo. However, it is very expensive.

Comment by Pamela — July 17, 2009 at 2:30 pm

I don’t have much to say that others have not already pointed out. Michael suffered from vitiligo and it pains and angers me to know that so many people still don’t realize this. They are uninformed so they are quick to ignorantly blurt things out like, “He bleached his skin!” Imagine being one of the most famous entertainers and at the brink of your career, you are afflicted with a skin condition that will make your skin splotchy..it starts on your hand and then works it’s way around your hole body. Michael chose to make lemonade out of lemons with his trademark rhinestone glove. I believe he suffered terribly from BDD…there were numerous people in his life who could have stepped in and helped him, but they didn’t. And now it’s too late. I miss you, Michael. Rest in peace, beautiful soul.

Comment by MG — July 17, 2009 at 7:40 pm

I feel so sorry for him. He was a kind person. Vitiligo is a very awful condition. I have malasma, which is condition of fair skin with hyperpigmentation. The same bleaching treatment is used to even out the complection. I can tell you, first hand, it is not fun to have a face that is both black and white. I agree he was a great looking person withot the surgeries. I think at the end of his life he had some reconstructive surgery on his nose and looked a lot better. May he rest in peace.

Comment by Miss Penelope — July 18, 2009 at 3:51 am

at some point he didn’t look bad, although generally i don’t like nose jobs on men. His wasn’t too bad, and I could maybe understand his wanting to change his original nose. It was pretty big…but he’s like someone who added too many rooms to a house and then was stuck!

Comment by Paula — July 20, 2009 at 12:56 am

It feels so weird to see how much he had changed. I get why he had the wigs after the Pepsi accident just not sure that didn’t mess him up in his mind for good. Seems to me after that fire he was always trying to make himself look better……

Comment by cid — July 30, 2009 at 12:22 pm

he was a very cure kid but then as a teenager no he didn’t have the face of a megastar. He was right to change it and he got the Off the wall look which was simply amazing. Then some small changes to his nose during the Thriller era which was not bad but not spectacular. However he didn’t become perfect simply perfect until after 1987. During the Bad era he was astonisighly beatiful not just handsome like in the 70s. And that wouldn’t have been the case without surgeries so whoever did that did an amazing job.
Later around 1993-1994 aging started to destroy that design and he also wanted to fight against it which of course never works aging makes everyone ugly no matter what. But nature could never produce the incredible face he had in the late 80s

Comment by JOy — July 31, 2009 at 11:33 am

Get real! His face looked best before he had any surgeries. What’s a megastar face suppose to look like? There are plenty of black stars/celebrities that made it without all those surgeries, Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, Eddie Murphy, Will Smith and the list goes on! MJ was at the height of his success up through the Thriller era. He had had a couple of surgeries, but he still looked like a handsome black man. From that point, with each additional sugery change, it began to go down hill for his looks and career! Cometic surgery is okay to a point, but MJ went way across that line. Cosmetic surgery should enhance your beauty, not totally redefined or interpret who you are–To me, what MJ did to his face–is an abomination! Instead of surgery, he needed therapy. May he RIP!

Comment by Braynz — August 1, 2009 at 4:27 am

He ruined his face the moment he put the cleft on his chin and then it went downhill from then onwards. His first nose job during Off the Wall was actually an accident. He fell and broke his nose while dancing and the slight narrowing down was the result of the doctor fixing his nose. He should have just leave it at there and not continuously butcher his face. He would have still aged gracefully with the whitened skin and all instead of looking like a freak.
