Tori Amos is apparently traveling down the heavily trodden path of many famous singers. The internet is buzzing with stories about her new ‘look’. I had to see for myself and saw a Tori Amos I barely recognized (thank goodness for captions!).
Her nose looks shaved down and her forehead yanked up. Her eyes look entirely different and the skin on her face is smoother.

If you’ve followed Tori long enough, you know that Tori LOVES Tori and she’ll keep doing this stuff, because she wants to look GOOD. Yikes. All the softness is gone from her face and she’s looking witchy.

All these eye jobs that make one look like he is staring into a high-powered indistrial fan: does anybody actuallly think this looks attractive? |
I don’t think she had much if any work. She still has that bump on her nose. Her eyes and brow area may just look different because she’s raising them as if she’s surprised. Other aging celebs do that too to look ‘refreshed’ in photos. I’d have to see more recent photos to know for sure. |
Good Lord! It’s one of them CRYPT KEEPERS!!!! |
She was better looking before the surgery. |
Not Tori Amos! She was always so beautiful and natural looking. She’s such a strong role model for women and I was a little surprised that she’d go this route. I still think she’s beautiful and no less of a role model, I’m just a little surprised. |
You know, if she had blonde hair, one might say she’s going for a Paris HIlton look (though lord knows why anyone in their right mind would do that). There’s definitely a brow lift happening there, and her nose does look thinner. Ah, never really liked her anyway…she tried too hard to be like Kate Bush (one of my favourite singers) instead of creating her own unique persona. |
Tori has not had a nose job or cheek implants, but she has had an eye job and/or forehead lift. She is filled with botox up the wazoo, and other fillers.. |
i was hoping you’d cover tori. i love her and i love her music, but she really fucked herself up. if you’ve watched some of the “visualettes” that come with the extras on her new album, her face looks TERRIBLE! i almost cried. imo, her procedures have marred her native america features. she looks waxen. on a good note, i’ve watched a very recent video interview and it looks like she’s “settled.” still…damn. |
I think she looks different but she looks fine. Thank God she did not get a sausage inserted into her lips. |
eh, she doesn’t look any different to me, other than because of circumstances easy to explain! |
Oh no! Not Tori too! |
Definitely She here brow line above her eyes is a good 1/2 + inch higher in the 2nd picture. Botox cannot make a dramatic difference like that. Its a huge difference. And the shape of her forehead is different. |
She looks the same, but older — the second picture is taken at a different angle, without being overlit or PhotoShopped. My guess is that there is a gap of several years between the first and second photos. |
I don’t mind her doing a little peeling and resurfacing, but the brow lift is HORRIFIC. She has to wear wigs now ’cause her hairline is all fuxxed up. Sad. She’s also become a Botox abuser to rival Nicole Kidman; she even had a Botox wonk eyelid recently. It’s just wrong!!! Her surgeon should be SHOT. |
Is she having a contest with Tori Spelling to see which one of them can have the worst plastic surgery? |
She looked much better before she started trying to improve on herself. |
The first picture was taken in August 2002, the second in March 2009, almost 7 years apart. While I agree that Tori has had some definite work one, I think subtle differences in picture angle and perspective greatly exagerrate it. The “brow lift” in question was performed in Fall 2004, and Tori is known to have been receiving botox shots since 2001. Also, it should be noted that her general shape, including that of her face, greatly changed when she gave birth to her daughter Natashya in 2000. |
wildenstein-esque. |
Saw her “live” on BBC TV’s “something for the weekend” – she looked really, really freaky – her eyes looked uneven, like Paris Hilton’s eyes – one seemed to be permanently half-closed. She now looks like the creepy villain from a horror movie – her face never moved while she was talking. She actually looked worse than the “after” image. |
aw, Tori, why? |
I am sorry, but camera angles and pregnancy cannot account for going from a larger nose with a very distinct round ball on it to having a tiny, pointy little beak of a witch nose. I don’t know about the brow lift or anything else, but she has beyond a shadow of a doubt had a nose job. |
I’m not sure she’s gone overboard. As she’s aged she is really starting look like her mother. Plus she’s so thin, it definitely makes her face more angular. She’s still fab though. |
Oh no Tori! I love her! Her music is awesome and she seemed to be so above all of the shallow BS. She was such a natural ginger beauty, now she looks like every other tucked and pulled piece of walking skin. |
Such a shame to see; I was a longtime Tori fan and honestly never thought she’d be the type to mess with her face so excessively…guess I was wrong! She had such a beautiful and natural porcelain doll beauty to her and a very sweet, angelic face—she didn’t tan and took care of her skin, so it makes her botox/surgery seem even more pointless. She still would’ve looked beautiful if she’d simply aged naturally, as her beauty was the type that appeared to age well. |
Even if she does minor procedures to keep youthful looking, it doesn’t change my opinion of her at all. Atleast it isn’t even noticeable like other slut celebrities who get huge breasts, ass, check or lip implants. LOL |
Her eyes look different in the second photo because of heavy black eyeliner around. |
I think something went wrong with Tori a few years back, around the time of the Scarlet’s Walk album. I have been a big fan of her music since the early ’90s, and I remember a time when Tori would NEVER have done this kind of work to her face. She was absolutely gorgeous back then, though. In the early 2000s, she lost quite a bit of weight, became gaunt, and her face started looking like…this. I saw her live in late 2002, and she was a tiny, whisper thin woman. I was surprised. It all seemed to coincide with her having a baby and nearing/turning 40. Midlife crisis? I don’t know. I just know that she is not the Tori I used to love. She seems to be quite obsessed with herself and her looks now, with all her different “personas” and costumes and wigs, and the weight loss, and evidently the plastic surgery as well. Sad to see that she won’t grow old gracefully. Anyone rememeber this woman? http://allthefestivals.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/tori-amos1.jpg |
Actually even the promo photos for this year’s tour are a little sketchy… she seems to be hiding more of her face, moreso than ever before. I’m actually a big fan, so the looks are not what interests me – the music is still the same, fantastic! She seems like she went through a Meg Ryan stage with plastic surgery, unfortunately sometimes when you mess with the bull… you get the horns. |
I’m sorry but one of the main attractions for me to Tori was her overall honesty as an artist, an emotional honesty that came out through her work that made it stand out, giving her the ability to weather all the accusations that she pretty much just stole Kare Bush’s act. While I have no problem separating the music from the physical appearance of the woman it does have an effect on her art because so much of it was connected to that philosophical honesty she shared with the listeners, an honesty that seems to be taking a back seat for some idealized image she may have of herself that is infecting the soul she uses to write her songs. And no amount of rationalizing about camera angles or anything else is going to explain away the fact that the two pictures above look like two different people. Aside from the work she’s had done in the shop, those eyes scream of a trip to a bottle of happy land, which might also explain the zombie-like look she has in the promo photos for her latest album. I’d almost find it easier to believe some conspiracy theory along the lines of the “Paul is dead” Beatle rumors, that something happened to the real Tori and this is someone they’ve hired to pretend to be her, than believe she would have sat down with a doctor and ASKED to look like this. |
Sad thing is, when I look at the first picture, I see someone who would make a fabulous-looking older woman. She had that unusual but “handsome” face that I think gets better with age. Not everyone ages well, but I think Tori would have had she not lifted her face like that. |
I have been a HUGE fan of Tori’s ever since Little Earthquakes, I’ve always loved her eccentricity and the fact that she didn’t follow the crowd. I bought her most recent album a week ago and looking through the CD booklet I was completely taken aback, she looked WAY different and its not just make-up or photo tampering, she just looks plain different and not in a good way. Its disappointing when someone like her gives in to the same old hollywood crap. |
Her obsession with Botox and plastic surgery shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has been a long-time fan. As I’ve watched her transformation, I’ve always heard, “Years go by, if I’m stripped of my beauty…” as well as the interviews where she would talk about all the girls in the ladies’ room whipping out their heavy artillery–their lip sticks. Tori was so unbelievably beautiful in her 20s and early 30s. It has to be hard to have the crow’s feet settle in. There’s a picture in her autobiography in which she’s hugging some of her band mates on the “Scarlet’s Walk” tour. The crow’s feet are VERY apparent. I see her as someone who is struggling to stay on top, and, as a woman in the music business, that means you have to be skinny and wrinkle-free. It explains her preoccupation with Britney Spears. Madonna went through a phase in which she did everything she could to associate with Britney–her VMA Like a Virgin/Hollywood performance (didn’t anyone notice that Christina Aguilera was there, also?), appearing in each other’s videos, and having Britney make cameos in her concerts. Madonna and Tori are behaving so similarly–plastic surgery, producing music with as contemporary element as possible (heavy on the electronica), the Britney thing,.. Madonna’s always had the amazing body thing going on, but Tori’s been looking emaciated for the last few tours, and in my opinion, that ages her some. She used to have such a great figure, with a little meat on her bones. On one hand, it bothers me that she talks so much about the image to which everywoman must adhere and then perpetuates the problem by giving into it. On the other hand, it may be too strong an external force against which she can fight and THAT is why it bothers her, because she can’t help but surrender to it. Does it really, then, come from the outside entirely, or is some of it about the fear of aging that bombards us all? |
it’s such a pitty she had plastic surgery. she was so beautiful…especially here eyes…now they just look wrong and weird and her forehead looks odd as well. hopefully she’ll leave it like it is before she turns into a freak. she’s only 45 and she looked more than fine, i just can’t believe of all people Tori had plastic surgery. she always came across like a REAL woman who was honest about her fears, emotions, highs and lows. her music is so magical and touching. the way she plays piano is incredible and her songs are amazing. how can someone so talented and beautiful be seduced by plastic surgery???!!! it doesn’t help that she’s lost so much weight. still looking forward to go and see her play live in september. |
Saw her in concert last night. Her eyebrows were so high I thought for a little while she was doing some sort of Japaense Kabuki thing, and then I realized it was just bad plastic surgery. All my idols are DEEEAAADDD!!! |
I am truly dissapointed in Tori for being so insecure that she had to change her looks. I always admired her being a strong woman & I can’t believe she sold out like this. I miss the days of when she was curvacious, sensual & beautiful…..the days of Scarlets Walk. Now she looks old , like she’s trying too hard, rather than growing old gracefully. Between her drastic weight loss & her going under the knife,,,, She ruined herself. Tori, listen to your fans & stop dieting & getting botox…. you’re a beautiful woman even at 45, please believe it!! |
Why doesn’t her husband stop her for Petes sake? It’s so BAD! |
Like any of you actually know her or see her on a daily basis.. Get over it people. |
The Tori’s bathwater drinker is telling us to get over it. Sorry, OMG, but a lot of her fans are turned off by her hypocrisy. You need to get over THAT. |
Yes Tori has had surgery, but as for becoming something less than what she was I completely disagree. Obvioulsy those who say this do not really understand her. Tori has grown and changed and evolved…in the 90s she was dealing with issues that are not relevant anymore to her – she is now finding inspiration and material from other sources other than herself (which she did in the past) its just who she is now…and if you really understood her and had the brains to actualy LISTEN to her in interviews (rather than superfically, critically judge her) you would see this. Surgery was probably a bad move but whos to say none of us would do the same when trying to survive in an industry obssessed with youth culture and when getting older often spells the end of what you love doing most. |
I went to see her recently in Manchester and Birmingham. I was lucky enough to meet her in Birmingham but did not recognise her at all and was very shocked that that was how she looked in real life – NOT at all like I thought from her videos and concert footage that I have. I couldn’t work out why she looked so different until someone told me after about her surgery. I’m sure that she must regret what she has done as she was naturally beautiful before and now just looks like someone else – and not for the better. A warning to us all! Still LOVE her music though – she’s amazing. |
