I do not know how her face looks in reality and this face looks on the photo not bad at all! BTW she had a lot of misery with the suicide of her husband! This picture has a lot of glamour I find but is of course total artifical!

In that picture, she doesn’t look completely awful. But in reality, she looks horrible! I saw her on TV, and it was a disgrace.

Isn’t this just awful? Gosh, her nose was fine in the 80’s and she probably would look really good right now if she had just stopped. My mom who is going to be 74 this year llooks amazing as she one single face lift when she was 47 or 48. It allowed her face to age naturally and she just looks so good for her age.

She’s admitted in Allure magazine that she will get some sort of cosmetic surgery every year until she dies, because she’s always felt like she was ugly… an endless sob story about how not even her own husband called her beautiful, or how no one ever said she was beautiful. They had a picture of her from 1968 or so, and she didn’t look half bad… she had had rhinoplasty even then, but she still didn’t look half bad.

I understand that Joan Rivers has had more that just a few plastic surgeries, but honestly, she is the Queen B. I love her. She is funny and she can poke fun of her self. Placing Joan on here is like placing Pam Anderson and saying her breasts are fake. We know, we got the memo years ago. Just leave Joan alone. She is pretty, very plastic, but a funny bitch .

Well, I must say in Joan’s defense that she has never denied having plastic surgery in the first place but I don’t see the sense in spending so much money on procedures if you’re going to come out looking like that. It’s suppose to look natural and her surgery definately does not. I also don’t think that 1984 picture of her is a good example of what she used to look like because in that pic, she looks like she has cheek implants and rhinoplasty too.

That must be one of the few decent photos of her on the right, because if her eyes weren’t totally coated in eye liner she would look almost okay (ALMOST). In the 80s photo her face is really thin, and her mouth and eyes are huge.

She looked just fine before the plastic surgery. Her eyes were much larger and prettier, her nose a lot nicer. She looked like a human being! I don’t have any problem with a nip or tuck here or there but what she has done to her face is almost as bad as what Jocelyn Wildensteen(?) has done to hers. Very sad.

Even once she started having surgery she still looked good but she has gone too far. The thing I appreciate about Joan is that she “gets it”. She knows she has gone overboard. She understands her place in the entertainment industry and doesn’t pretend to be “normal” unlike people like Pam Anderson and other overdone stars.

I agree with Jonathan. Joan is funny and down to earth. Plastic surgery is her thing, her passion. At this point, I don’t think she is doing it because she feels she needs to do it. Other woman may be satisfied changing their hair and makeup. Joan enjoys changing her face. She doesn’t look awful……………………yet.

Joan has a terrible nose job was it broken then pinched. Joan’s eye job makes her look like an asian woman. At this point her face looks like it’s made out of putty.

Well, I hate to reveal my age, but I remember her when she was doing standup in the 60’s, and she was an attractive woman with a great smile and her sense of humor always shone through. She looked fine without any plastic surgery and I think she would probably look great for age if she had stopped at only minimal procedures, maybe one lift. She never even needed one nose job. But it’s her face, and she’s never lied about all the work she’s had done, so I have to credit her for that.

@ MG: Joan Rivers does feel that she needs to do the plastic surgery every year. She’s basically a pity party of a woman who laments that she was never called beautiful by anyone, not even her husband.. never mind that he couldn’t have really been the man for her if he couldn’t even call her beautiful (won’t even say anything about the tragedy of the marriage).

Dang….her eyes look good but good grief, it’s a tragedy what she’s done to her nose….it’s really bad. I wonder if her surgeon showed her “after” pics before she chose to do this. The skin on her face looks completely rigid, like it’s so stuffed with filler that it won’t even move like normal skin anymore. Poor thing.

for those of old to remeber she was an absolutely brilliant comic in the early to mid 80s. sometime around the time of the death of her husband, the world turned against her. a backlash against her take no prisoners skewering of celebrities. she has certainly proven the test of time but along the way she came off more and more sad. all the plastic surgery only exponentiated this.

She laughs at herself, but…all that PS can’t be good for her. JOAN, you feel beautiful from the inside out, NOT the other way around! She needs to feel good about herself before she stops trying to change her appearance. Sad, b/c she was an attractive woman in the 80’s, not beautiful, but nice looking. There are very few GORGEOUS people in this world, but…beauty comes from the inside! She’s a funny lady, too bad she doesn’t love herself enough to stop the crazy surgeries.

I’ve always been a fan of Joan Rivers the comedienne and always will be. But bottom line: I once saw her on the streets of Midtown Manhattan…..scared the hell out of me. She looked like a bobble head image of herself! Oh well, at least she knows the deal and can laugh at herself.

ok she had a lot done and will continue and there is nothing wrong with that. she does look pretty different but she looks good. A lot does not mean awful she still looks great for her age because she does it in incriments and its good.
