Madonna’s new face – and yes, she still looks odd

previous post: Gwyneth Paltrow’s new freaky face rolls on -- next post: Guess who?

Madonna has been in the public eye for over 25 years now and while she can’t lie about her age, she can unsuccessfully attempt to defy gravity. Epic fail in that department. Madonna recently was prancing around Los Angeles with a ‘new look’. Rumor has it she obtained a ‘ribbon lift’, which lifts up sagging skin. Here are the bare facts about the procedure.

a. The Ribbon facelift procedure involves making an incision behind the ear and placing a a bioabsorbable ENDOTINE Ribbon™ to hold the muscle back and allow the surgeon to tighten loose skin.
b. The bioabsorabable ribbon which has hooks is dissolved in a period of 2-3 months.
c. The recovery time is maximum a week.
d. It has few side effects like bruising etc.
e. Results last from 3-5 years.

Madonna’s face is odd, because her cheeks look huge and stuffed.

MWatch adonna talking with her jumbo cheeks.

Here is a strange article about Madonna morphing into Kate Winslet. Um, okay, did I miss a story about Madonna jumping into a time nachine and successfully making her way back in time? She will never look like Kate Winslet beyond having a somewhat similar hair shade.

Kate Winslet is beautiful, Madonna, not so much.

Comment by rachel — March 20, 2009 at 7:29 am

I don’t think she looks odd at all. She has an incredible plastic surgeon who really did take 25 years off her. I think she looked odd before when she looked like a puppet but apparently she had that fixed or something. She looks fabulous!

Comment by Suzanne — March 20, 2009 at 9:18 am

I don’t like the cheek implants either, but I think she looks really good-better than last fall when she was so thin. I hate those super buff arms on older ladies, though. It makes her look so hard and her veins stick out, making her look even older.

Comment by shle896 — March 20, 2009 at 9:34 am

Whatever she’s done, she looks terrific to me. Especially for 50! You go Madonna.

Comment by Laura — March 20, 2009 at 9:47 am

Her cheeks do look plumper. I guess all that weight loss finally made her realize that skinnier does not mean looking more youthful, particularly in the face. What I dislike about her appearance (I do think she looks good for ther age) is the masculine arms and body…a “she man.” I think her ex described her body as gristle-like.

Comment by SB123 — March 20, 2009 at 11:32 am

All I can say is that it always looks worse in “real life.” Were it not for the fact she’s “Madonna” and on film, people would be pulling away from her.

Comment by TestT — March 20, 2009 at 1:00 pm

I recall -ages ago, it seems- Madonna soundly dissin’ Joan Collins for looking a wreck and being over surgeried. Pot, met kettle. She’s another star surrounded by Yes Men. Needs her brother Christopher back in her life to give her reality checks.

She will continue to look more grotesque as the years roll on. Karma will be lil Lordes surpassing her as an actor the writings on the wall…

Comment by Bones — March 20, 2009 at 2:18 pm

Not a threadlift—a trained eye can see it’s tons of fillers, like Sculptra, to fill out the face and give it volume. Looks okay, but the big inflated Heather Locklear-type chin and apple cheeks are a dead giveaway.

Comment by mytwocents — March 20, 2009 at 3:15 pm

She’s beginning to look like someone who “looks” like Madonna.

Comment by Kl — March 20, 2009 at 3:17 pm

She will never look like Kate Winslet because she’ll never be a fat podgy brit that still looks like a pig no matter how much dieting and photoshopping she uses.

Comment by Mrs. Ferrer — March 20, 2009 at 3:45 pm

Madonna has really big chipmunk cheeks … and yet she’s so thin. She has no “crows feet” around her eyes, er, I mean, no wrinkles at all, and she’s 50 years old! She is definitely obsessed with “looking” young. Wonder what she’ll look like in 20 years, when she’s 70? LMAO!!! At least she doesn’t have the ridiculous “hemorrhoid lips” like Lisa Rinna. Gross!

Comment by Taylor — March 20, 2009 at 7:17 pm

O for crying out loud, she looks fabulous and I am not a Madonna Fan.. but whatever.. she looks great!

Comment by Brian — March 20, 2009 at 9:38 pm

She looks amazing! Although I don’t think she looks like Kate Winslet, she does look a bit like Sharon Stone now.

Comment by leonard mckelvey — March 20, 2009 at 10:04 pm

At the rate madonna going she will surely turn into benjamin button.

Comment by Kat — March 20, 2009 at 10:46 pm

In that second picture down there she looks lovely, and I believe, in her case, the somewhat plump cheeks do look more youthful because when she was young she always had a big, full-cheeked face, which was attractive. She definitely could use some more weight on her though.

Comment by Yvonne — March 20, 2009 at 11:29 pm

Madonna’s arms looks disgustingly gross. I feel sorry for the hollywood people. They have it worse than us regular folks. They must constantly worry about looking young and extremely thin. Skinny does not mean attractive.

Comment by Laila — March 21, 2009 at 8:32 am

I am not a fan of Madonna. But I think she looks fabulous. I find people’s comments very mean. Those who make fun of her age will probably never have that privilege of getting old and staying healthy and beautiful like she is. Pus 50 is not old. She still can do whatever she wants to. You guys are mean , rude and no matter how old you are (I am guessing you are teens) you are not attarctive people. learn how to be a good person because that is real beauty.

Comment by Sgt Friday — March 21, 2009 at 9:22 am

Have to agree with Taylor. If I look that good at 50, I’ll be down on my knees thanking my lucky stars.

Comment by Jay — March 21, 2009 at 11:07 am

I don’t care for Madonna but she looks great for 50.

Comment by G — March 21, 2009 at 1:36 pm

Kate Winslet fat? Podgy? Looks like a pig? Please! She is naturally beautiful. Why are people so critical? I am not a Madonna fan either but she looks great for her age.

Comment by sunday — March 21, 2009 at 3:20 pm

She doesnt even look like madonna. I thought it was sharon stone when I watched the clip. What a mess. It even makes her mouth move differently.

Comment by Lisa — March 21, 2009 at 3:35 pm

She’s starting to look like she is related to Jocelyn Wildenstein.

Comment by Susan — March 21, 2009 at 3:36 pm

I have to agree with Taylor, I think she looks great…and I’m also not a fan. If she didn’t have any work done, she would have a face full of wrinkles and we would all be saying….Ewww…look how old she looks! I think she’s actually beautiful, but dislike how muscular she is.

Comment by Bambi — March 21, 2009 at 8:06 pm

Her veiny arms gross me out but her face looks decent– and should, considering she has all the money in the world to spend on it!!!

Comment by hum — March 21, 2009 at 8:29 pm

i think she looks pretty damn good.

Comment by JACKNASTY — March 21, 2009 at 9:06 pm

It’s not just her cheeks that look fuller – it’s her entire face. She’s gained some weight and no longer looks like Skeletor. She looks alright for 50. A little surgical perhaps, but nothing when compared to most of her celebrity contemporaries.

Comment by Josh — March 22, 2009 at 6:39 am

She never was pretty she look boyish and had a man’s body GROSS

Comment by Amber — March 22, 2009 at 9:25 am

Did she get her teeth fixed?

Comment by Meimei — March 22, 2009 at 9:43 am

“If she didn’t have any work done, she would have a face full of wrinkles and we would all be saying….Ewww…look how old she looks!”

I’m not so sure. 50 isn’t that old, and many naturally againg people that age look pretty good – not wrinkle-free, but not face full of them either. My guess is that Madonna could’ve been one of those people. Now she’s plastic.

Comment by SB123 — March 22, 2009 at 11:02 am

Disturbing that her face generally doesn’t move when she talks. Her skin looks waxy and overly light. The mid-face area looks tampered with somehow – implants, facelift, not sure.

In any case, surgeried people always look worse in person than on film.

Comment by Tee — March 22, 2009 at 3:16 pm

Yes, she looks good for 50. And yes, she’s had a lot of work done.

The problem I have with her is that she is such a hypocrite. In her movie ‘Truth or Dare’ she staged a kind of bed-in with her back-up singers and dancers and berated people for having plastic surgery, saying she’d never have it done. HYPOCRITE!

Madonna, a woman’s face doesn’t get chubbier/fuller with age, but I guess you expect the skulking minions of the world to believe that, at 50, with no body fat, your face is getting fuller and smoother with the passage of time. FAIL. Go ahead, have lots of work done, but the Madonna that I used to admire was a straight shooter; would tell it like it is. Come out and admit to your fans and little girls everywhere all the work you’ve had. You didn’t build a career on being coy. Fess up.

Comment by tammy — March 22, 2009 at 5:37 pm

shes had tons of plastic surgery wow.

Comment by SomeBitch — March 22, 2009 at 6:09 pm

Lame. She looks amazing, and I don’t even like her.

Comment by Blackie — March 22, 2009 at 6:26 pm

I thought she was a cutie way back in the early ’80s when she looked like a normal, cute girl, i.e. before her discovery of the gym in the mid-80s. Of course, I preferred Bruce Springsteen prior to his “Rambo” look, too…

Comment by Madeline — March 22, 2009 at 11:51 pm

That’s not a ribbon lift, that’s fillers. I agree with the poster who said she looks like Sharon Stone. Both women have been plumped up by some very good doctors. I also agree that her body looks too buff and mannish, and for a long time I didn’t like what her low body fat was doing to her face, but she looks really great now.

Comment by Megan — March 23, 2009 at 2:25 am

In the posed and pre-arranged shots she looks pretty good at first take, but at an odd accidental angle it looks fake and obvious that she is trying too hard to be beautiful. When I compare her face to Marilyn Monroe or Catherine Deneuve, there’s nothing like the line of a naturally beautiful cheekbone. It looks like surgery just can’t replicate it. Look I don’t care if she has plastic surgery or not. Just don’t tell me that she is beautiful.

Comment by Ciji — March 23, 2009 at 7:31 pm

Yuck she looks awful, you can see her selfishness & meanness & black heart etched all over her face, no amount of surgery, fillers, botox will help. Kate Winslett on the other hand is gorgeous and soft and has a heart and you can see it on her face, she will look lovely even at 90! Its interesting how good Guy Ritchie is looking these days since he got rid of the garbage in his life! hahaha

Comment by CMDenholm — March 24, 2009 at 4:44 pm

I would love to look as good as her when I turn 50. She looks amazing!

Comment by Sharon — March 24, 2009 at 7:26 pm

She has “Faye Dunaway” face. Her cheek implants look like Hilda the Hoarding Hamster. She was a beautiful young woman. Why couldn’t she just age gracefully?

See, kids? This is what hanging around with a guy named Jesus will do for ya!

Comment by Teddi — March 24, 2009 at 7:45 pm

What celebrity hasn’t undergone surgery? Have you seen Courtney Cox on the cover of AVON? OMG!!!!! They messed up her mouth trying desperately to make her look young. She looks like she’s had a stroke!. All this hipe of women over 40 looking fabulous. Screw that. Look natural. A few lines gives the face character.. I saw Jennifer Annison trying to talk on Oprah..ha. She couldn’t move her face. No one is real in Hollywood and we try to look like THEM.

Comment by Frankie — March 25, 2009 at 9:06 am

She surely did somethink to her cheeks but maybe now the thing is that she gained some weight…could it be possible?
Anyway i think she looks good…especially compared to many other celebrities posted here! What i don’t like about her are her arms..but the face is good for a 50 year old woman!
She may not be the most beautiful woman on earth (and never was) but she’s nothing terrible i think!

Comment by Tommy — March 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

She looks like someone else, but not in a good way. Never thought I’d say this about Madonna, she looks like Zsa Zsa Gabor, in that blurred still photo. She’s also a celebrity whos had a few facelifts, and she’s over 90! Not a good move Madonna.

Comment by smiley — March 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

eww. she looks like a (male) Madonna impersonator. not that there’s anything wrong with that

Comment by SpookCat — March 25, 2009 at 8:41 pm

to anyone who replied she looks good….your replies scared me. If that looks good then I will take looking like crap anyday.

Comment by Ani — March 26, 2009 at 12:13 am

The thing that bothers me is that after they destroy their looks they still insist on going out in public and frightening our young!

Comment by Brian Bloom — March 26, 2009 at 1:21 pm

She looks like SHARON STONE!

Comment by me — March 27, 2009 at 12:09 am

You guys really pick these celebrities apart..hehehe

Comment by Jake — March 27, 2009 at 9:28 am

Uhh…did I miss something? Her cheeks look bigger, but not unnaturally. Must have had work done, but really…I think she looks pretty good. Isnt she the same age as Michael Jackson? Now THATS a train wreck.

Comment by peanut — March 27, 2009 at 2:56 pm

SpookCat: I’m with you. I’m 48, and apart from maybe one day getting my eyelids fixed (a little on the droopy side due to years of allergies/eye rubbing), I would take looking like crap any day over looking like a Spitting Image Puppet.

Comment by Aja — March 28, 2009 at 8:12 am

She looks great, wtf is all the criticism?

Comment by MG — March 29, 2009 at 4:26 pm

I was never a fan of Madonna’s and was never one who saw anything even remotely attractive about her. I think she is trying very hard to look young. I think she looks good enough with what she has to work with. Maybe she should just stop trying to improve her looks. She seems like she could easily cross the line into celebrity weirdness. Sorry, I am just not into her.

Comment by Viktorija — March 29, 2009 at 5:36 pm

She has had filler injected in her cheeks, and badly. One cheek is visibly larger than the other. This chipmunk cheek look is not attractive on anyone. I have yet to see it improve a woman’s looks. They just look like a puppets. Traditional facelifts look far better looking.

Comment by Spiritual Hands — April 1, 2009 at 9:04 am

Madonna looks flat out awful. She was never talented or pretty.

Comment by Fakey Fake — April 1, 2009 at 9:06 am

Let’s pray Guy Richie is recovering from his years with IT. By the way why does Madonna always have that gross smirk on her face whenever she is photographed in public? She seems like such an unhappy individual.

Comment by Tamiko — April 1, 2009 at 3:51 pm

I don’t think she looks like Kate Winslet at all…

Comment by wyowumin — April 4, 2009 at 9:00 am

She looks like that puppet Madam.

Comment by ray butler — April 11, 2009 at 10:27 am

I’ve got news for those of you who think she’s old. SHE IS OLD! Give her a break. How many 50 year olds look good at all?

Comment by Jens — April 20, 2009 at 2:01 pm

I think the way she looks now is very young and attractive. There has been a downtime-period (like on the pictures with the hands etc..). But I like this look and I don’t think anybody could say she looks like she’s fifty years old.

Comment by pusja — April 22, 2009 at 2:33 pm

The worst thing are her arms and especially her hands because of too much physical exercise. They are so dry and sinewy to look like a 90 years old person’s (IMHO). Unfortunally there’s no plastic surgery able to fix them :-s

Comment by Hana — April 26, 2009 at 10:37 am

I think she really looks artificially beautiful resembling the modern MRS FRANKESTEIN .

Comment by Janet — May 16, 2009 at 6:06 pm

She looks great! She looks like she looked back in the day. Great surgery!

Comment by Sam — May 29, 2009 at 3:09 am

She actually looks very beautiful, and I’ve never thought that about Madonna in my life.

Comment by kate — September 16, 2009 at 8:53 am

no one is beautiful at 50, no one

Comment by Francesca — October 19, 2009 at 5:49 pm

Thank god she got rid of the greasy middle part and black roots. And she has always had that weird sort of classic cherubic Italian look.

“no one is beautiful at 50, no one”

You think you’re never gonna get old Kate? You will if you’re lucky. A lot of actresses look better at 50, like Michelle Pfeiffer, Kim Catrell, and Kim Basinger, who looked weird when they were younger. Martha Stewart still looks good and is in her sixties! People are living longer and againg differently. No one should be forced to sit in a rocking chair and die when they turn a certain age. And I bet you look like crap!

Comment by Lola Granola — October 25, 2009 at 7:18 am

Yikes, she looks terrible. Everything she’s doing is backfiring on her. Her face has lost that quirky cuteness it had when it was still all natural. Instead of stuffing her cheeks and getting injections everywhere to try to look younger, she should work out less (four hours a DAY? Come ON!), eat more, get more sleep, and stop obsessing about her age. I thought she was onto something good when she took up yoga, but it looks like she’s back to old bad habits, and those always tell on a person’s face. A more relaxed attitude would do wonders for her that no plastic surgeon ever could. I’m with those who say she should have practiced what she used to preach–she would look so much better if she’d kept it real!
