I don’t know what to say. I never found him overly attractive, but he was easy on the eyes. I could never warm up to him tho. He’s is own best fan and that turns me off. It’s said we get the face we deserve by the time we’re 50, so maybe that says something about how he’s lived his life? I’m sure he’s used steroids and that hasn’t helped either. He’s actually toxic looking.

He doesn’t look like he’s had surgery. You guys see surgery everywhere. He just looks like he’s been partying too much.

I was never a fan, and the last time I saw him was on a Friends repeat. He looked pretty good. Rachel and Monica were fighting over him. I am a little shocked at his gaunt, and aged appearance. This actor did NOT go under a knife. He did not get collagen, fillers, eyes done. I do not know his lifestyle but he has aged probably more than his actual years. He could use some work, and maybe if he gained some weight his hollow cheeks would fill in. NOT a pretty sight.

Have you seen Glenn Close in this season of Damages? Her face is so tight in the cheek area that she looks bizarre, and her mouth seems all stretched out as well.

I don’t see that his eyes look pulled upward at all. To me his face is like a case study of how aging decreases the fat in the cheeks and makes a face look dissolute. The bags under his eyes and wrinkles on his forehead contribute to this as well. The only part of his face that appears to have had plastic surgery would be his jaw, which isn’t sagging or jowly.

This has nothing to do with Jean Claude but rather with Mercedes Ruehl. I’ve loved her performances in the past and when I saw her name appear on the opening credits of this week’s Law and Order, I was very excited. When she appeared on screen, I was shocked. She looks awful!!!!! What happened to her???? She used to be a lovely or “handsome” woman but now she looks like any other aging actress with too much surgery. I am so disappointed!

Regina I am not sure what your comment has to do with Jean Claude but I am a Mercedes Ruehl fan too and I just googled pictures of her but could find no recent ones where she looked very different. Well if it is true what you say I would be very very disappointed too, I hope maybe it was just a bad make up job that you saw on Law and Order? (probably not…)
with regards to Jean Claude, well I have no opinion either way cause never cared for him but he does look sick to me, not just older, and he does not look like he had much done to his eyes to me. The writer says they look pulled up but I see the opposite, to me they look pulled down. I hope he is not sick.

The symmetry around his lower jaw looks off; on his left side the jawline looks less fuller than the right … I suspect this guy doesn’t feel well or too much partying has caught up to him

“pulled upwards”?!? huuhh??? It’s called “fat atrophy”. There are absolutely NO signs of an eye job but rather an overall lack of volume due to loss of fat. It might be due to steroid use, that’s the strongest possibility.

He is looking like Buster Keaton. Looks like the fat pads off his cheeks fell and are pooling by his jowls. Isnt that (sadly) normal aging? Don’t we all have that too look forward to? Apparently, he’s only 9 years older than me, but looks like he’s from a different generation. Maybe it is the steroids. Who knows?

The look, is not anabolic steroid, related. In fact, when someone uses anabolic steroids, while looking lean, if that is the case, they still have a full looking face. It depends on the type of steroids. If it is a “high androgenic” steroid, the tendency, will be to have a fuller looking face, compared to “low androgenic”, high anabolic steroids.

Van Damme looks okay for his age. You have to bear in mind that this is deliberately unflattering lighting. We’re so used to plastic surgery cases that we’re horrified by normal aging. He probably spent a lot of time in the sun.

My heart breaks for him, but no matter what he was blessed with so much, a nice career, a wife who has loved him through out all, beautiful children and fans around the globe. He is aging and non of us will get out of it. However no one cares if we age our pictures are not all over the internet. If he gained some weight he would look better…In any case I have always been a fan and he is still a kick butt actor to me…Focus on the good everyone….the bad and ugly well they are just that…bad and ugly!

This is a bad shot of him. He looks like he’s at the end of a good prarty night. Age affects people differently and he now has plastic surgery done and he doesn’t look like himself at all. It’s all in the eyes folks.
